Q: What are your admin fees?

This is not a clear cut question to answer as most would think. MAA has a 100% donation policy for any donations made towards specific programmes or campaigns such as Orphan Aid or Emergency Aid.
For general donations, there are 5 groups of expenses which are categorised by NGOs:

1.         Distributed Funds & Project Pipeline
2.         Administration
3.         International Projects Support
4.         Marketing & Fund-raising
5.         Community Development & Education

Since funds are pooled into categories, other NGOs may only give you their admin fee figures excluding all other expenses such as marketing fees.
As part of our policy to remain transparent and honest to our donors, we have included all the above expense categories into our Admin fee total of 8.8% which can be further broken down into 6.3% admin ratio and 2.5% fundraising ratio.

Q: How do I know that the money is being distributed correctly?

MAA strives to maintain a level of trustworthiness, efficiency, transparency and accountability across all levels of operations. Through these values we have been able to attain the ACNC (Australian Charities & Not-For-Profits Commision) Blue Tick of approval as well as obtaining full membership of ACFID (Australian Council of International Aid Development.) We also hold a comprehensive DRG status with the ATO (Australian Taxation Office).

In order for us to maintain these approvals and memberships, MAA is subject to regular mandatory Audits. These audits ensure a high level of transparency and integrity for all our donors, field partners and sponsors.

Q: Are my donations Tax Deductible?

Yes, all donations to MAA Local and MAA Global are 100% tax deductible. This is not restricted to any specific campaigns or projects.

If you have not received a tax deductible receipt for a donation you have made please contact us on 1800 100 786 or . To make this process easy, please also include details of the date the payment was made as well as the campaign you donated towards.

Q: How do I make an MAA account?

To create an account, click on the “Sign In” link on the top right of the page and fill out the form under “New to MAA?” Once the form is properly filled out, click “Register” on the bottom of the page.

Creating an account will give you a personal Donor ID with which to quote when contacting us for information on Orphan sponsorship, past or current donations or Tax Receipts.

Your MAA account will also allow you, as a donor, to keep track of your current and past donations for tax deductibility and donation management purposes.
